Canaan Linder, the CEO of Stardust, offered a variety of viewpoints on blockchain and NFTs in a recent interview.
Unlike publishers, Linder asserts that among its numerous advantages, blockchain permits building on user and developer-generated content. Linder also states that NFTs have more room to grow in the blockchain industry.
His business developed a low-code NFT integration solution for millions of well-known players so they could understand who he was. Linder and Blockworks discussed the potential benefits of blockchain for the gaming sector.
Blockchain Holds Great Promise For Linder
Linder noted that mobile gaming had dominated the gaming industry for the last decade, with little innovation and a firm reliance on advertising. He then discussed how blockchain technology can assist game makers to overcome their greatest obstacles.
Blockchain is the first innovation in the gaming sector in years, according to Linder.
He believes that this innovation has come at a good moment because all games now have to pay more for user acquisition as a result of Apple’s IDFA reforms. According to Linder, because developer margins have shrunk, they are searching for fresh approaches to innovate and give customers better experiences.
Linder speculates that NFTs might help Runescape and MMOs in terms of the advantages of integration for Web 2 games. NFTs may enhance user experience and lifetime value in virtual economies, rare items, and resource-grinding MMOs like Runescape (LTV).
Interoperability In Gaming Is The Future, Says Linder
Regarding the requirement for a gaming interface, Linder thinks that similar to prior 10x advancements, blockchain and NFTs represent a new stage of evolution that is beyond our comprehension. The internet, tablets, and smartphones show that what people consider necessary today may seem very different in 20 years.
He claims that the creative interoperability of the gaming business is supported by relatively new technology. He claims that every significant discovery is original, complex, and has the capacity to alter the course of history; as a result, he claims that the interoperability of blockchain technology is essential to the future of the gaming sector.
Despite the limitations of game interoperability, he feels that users have benefited from this permissionless environment and that it has generated value outside of games.
A player could use an NFT and a decentralized finance (Defi) network to borrow money from a lender. The NFT will be kept by the lender as security up until the loan is repaid. NFTs typically have to do with gaming.
However, according to Linder, they might be a house, a car, or a piece of art. He is also upbeat about the NFT and metaverse areas.
